Ron Paul's son, Rand Paul compares U.S. to 1923 Germany on Glenn Beck's Show.
Think Progress:

Continuing his penchant for doomsday fearmongering, Beck posited that the Obama administration might be “building an exoskeleton around our republic.” “They are feasting on it,” said Beck. “And when it can’t handle it anymore, they overwhelm that system, the exoskeleton will kick in and we’ll have a new transformative moment here in America.” Paul then took Beck’s paranoia up a notch by comparing the present moment to the rise of Hitler:

PAUL: I don’t need the job. I want to do it for a period of time because I’m worried about our country. I’m worried about the deficit and what it will do. I’m also, ultimately I’m not a doomsday sayer, but I worry about in Germany, in 1923 when they destroyed their currency out of that arose a Hitler. And I think when you have chaos, if you have economic chaos, you end up getting things that you don’t want sometimes, you know? And we have to be very careful that we don’t rewrite our Constitution or throw it out completely and we don’t get some kind of strong leader that’s going to help us or keep us from ourselves. And I think that happens in times of chaos. And I think we’re in danger of that with the level of deficit we have now.

Beck agreed, but thought that he didn’t go far enough. “I think we are in more than just danger of that. I think that is the road we’re on, if we’re not careful,” said Beck. “We’re headed towards — we’re repeating the Weimar republic almost to a T.” Listen here:

In that case, he probably has siblings called Dollar, Pound, Rupee and Yen

9. Didn't Rush Limbaugh compare Obama to Hitler today?
If we're the Weimar Republic, how in the world can Obama be Hitler? I think the rethugs need to read up on their history.

If we are the Weimar Republic, wouldn't that make the Republicans the Nazis?

19. Beats me what they're up to as "public figures."
The old man is essentially a racist kook. In the Republican primary debates, as clueless a thug as Rudy Giuliani tore Paul to shreds in about 30 seconds.

Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 02:36 PM by TTUBatfan2008
and has been a vocal critic of the Bush Administration over the years. He may be crazy, but he's not inconsistent. Read this, it's a speech given by Ron Paul in September 2002 while Bush was using propaganda to crank up the war against Iraq:

26. I assume he holds the same beliefs as his dad...
Basically anti-government, anti-Federal Reserve, anti-spending, etc.

His son has not been in the political arena so you cannot criticize him for not speaking out against Bush. He was a doctor for 18 years before he decided to run for office. I assume if his dad has any influence on him at all, he probably was NOT a Bush supporter.

29. I assume nothing except for his words to Beck
and it does not sit well with me. I'm sure many a republican or libertarian were against Bush, and the rest you've mentioned, but idly sat by until now to speak out fiercely against Obama and Democrats. If you choose to read more into Randy Paul and his possible beliefs, that's your business and I have no beef with you on the matter.

30. Ron doesn't believe that pregnancy can be life threatening.
He is a liar.
He has said that he has never had a patient with a pregnancy that is life threatening. He's been practicing about 40 years in Lake Jackson Texas, the company town for Dow Chemical in Freeport.

I guess he's never seen a woman with a tubal pregnancy or pre-eclampsia, or one who has to have a mandatory C section because the hole in her pelvis is not big enough to deliver the baby through.

Well, guess, what. That's statistically impossible.

Hell, I had a pregnancy that would have killed me if I had not had a C section. Just from basic anatomy. Pelvis too small, baby too big (eight pounds).

What an asshole.

:wtf:
