I voted and "yes" went to 189, so I did something I usually don't bother trying and backed up and voted again. It went to 188.

14. I have this vision in my head of all these basement bound freepers

pounding the heck out of the keys on this poll, thinking they are winning some strange war against me or the DU. I tell you, it has had me laughing my self silly for the past 20 minutes.

Here you go Bloo...My hand to GOD, they are trying to multi vote on it, sometimes there is nothing better than a good hearty laugh from your toes up, I am at the hiccuping stage right now..

16. Approve/Disapprove polls will ALWAYS favor disapprove. I hereby dub it "The Goldilocks Syndrome".

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks. She went for a walk in the forest. Pretty soon, she came upon a house. She knocked and, when no one answered, she walked right in.

At the table in the kitchen, there were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks was hungry. She tasted the porridge from the first bowl.

"This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed.

So, she tasted the porridge from the second bowl.

"This porridge is too cold," she said.

So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge.

"Ahh, this porridge is just right," she said happily and she ate it all up.

You know the rest.

If you were to prepare a huge pot of porridge at any temperature, no matter what that temperature was, and then have 1000 little girls like Goldilocks taste it and answer a poll asking "do you generally approve of the temperature of this porridge?" most of them would answer "no" because it would be either too hot or too cold for them. Only a small percentage would say that it was "just right". Polls of that form are inherently flawed and will always return negative results.

In this case, many liberals do not approve of Barack Obama's performance because his actions are not liberal enough, while most conservatives do not approve because he's not conservative enough. Only a small percentage will characterize him as "just right", thus the Goldilocks Syndrome virtually guarantees that the majority of those participating in the poll will disapprove.
