3. don't show this to O'Reilly
it could be considered assault and battery. On second thought, I'd like to sear the image into his tiny little brain.

9. I briefly worked with Franni in the early 80s. She was
very pregnant at the time and left soon after I arrived for an internship. But I remember her being very nice and very funny (no surprise!)

with her eyes at the presser after coleman conceded..and her standing next to Senator Franken now.

That's pretty cool that Franken has someone like her by his side..he's a lucky dawg!

5. Walter Mondale was the replacement candidate when Norm Coleman...
...won his one US Senate term in 2002 (Senator Paul Wellstone died right before the election).

That's so good to see!

Walter Mondale looks pretty good, I had to look up his age when I saw the telltale gigantic old guy glasses.

Born in 1928, same age as my Dad, who passed last year. :(

My Mom somehow managed to convince my Dad to abandon the oversized glasses for a pair a little smaller. I have a pair of his larger frames, they make me smile, I used to tease him so much about those glasses. He didn't care, father of girls (west wing episode) he was used to it.

Okay, back to Senator Al Franken!

18. What book did he swear his oath on? Senator Franken is Jewish, right?
I wonder if it's the Torah or a Hebrew book of prayer. Or a book of law, maybe? Just curious, but really, who cares? Welcome to the Senate, Senator Franken!!! :woohoo:

28. The Republicans are aghast at a comedian being seated in the Senate.
I'm aghast that the Senate has descended so far into ruin that a comedian has become the Senate's last, best hope.

Go, Al!

And Ellison and Walz in the House, Minnesota has some pretty impressive -- and young -- legislative depth. It's like seeing a team full of rookies who you know are going to be hall of famers.
