One final bit of color: As your pool was leaving -- after the TV lights
had been shut down -- POTUS chimed in with a plug for this evening's
entertainment, which he's clearly pretty excited about (along those
lines, there was a wooden surfboard, with "Congressional Luau 2009"
painted on it, sitting outside the Palm Room after the pool spray). "I
hope everybody's got their Hawaiian shirts and their mumus for our luau
tonight," POTUS told his guests. Fear not, though -- no one in your
pool, at least, has indicated that they plan to be in either a Hawaiian
shirt or a mumu for POTUS's remarks, the only part of the luau that
we'll be attending tonight.
