Oddly (cough, cough...) the videos are no longer available on this site, but I wanted to find some of the messaging Sanford had been broadcasting in his run for governor. I hit gold!

"Farm" (TV)

MARK SANFORD: Growing up on our family's farm in South Carolina taught me about hard work and responsibility. I brought that conservative philosophy to Washington, where I led the entire Congress in efforts to cut taxes and reduce wasteful spending.

That's what we need now in Columbia. Politicians will talk all day long about smaller government, but unless we have real leadership, it just doesn't get done. I led that fight in Congress, and that's what I'd do as your governor.

When I ran for Congress, I said I'd support term limits, never take a dime from special interests and not waste the taxpayers' money. I kept those promises. South Carolina needs a return to real, honest leadership in the governor's office.

1. I heard his "family farm" was actaully an antebellum slave plantation

and still to this day, I wonder who is doing the actual work on that farm.

(I bet they have the same color skin as their ancestors who worked on that "family farm" many years ago.)
