http://firedavidletterman.com/

Lists all advertisers and provides a sample letter to send. Also encourages people to go after their local CBS affiliates too. And is organizing a rally outside The Ed Sullivan Theater tomorrow afternoon.

The site's run by Michael Patrick Leahy. His personal site is http://www.michaelpatrickleahy.com/. His company is Guerrilla Enterprise and their website is http://www.gemteam.com/. It includes contact information for anyone interested (PO Box 183, Thompsons Station, TN 37179, 615-243-6869, [email protected]).

Anyone seen any organized response? This is ABSURD and Sarah Palin - and her minions - need to be shut up once and for all. They need to realize we are tired of them and that they should really just go away.

3. I believe so - but CBS could drop him or try to force him to change his ways.
This isn't even just about Palin - it's about separation of media and state.

30. He owns both the Late Show and the Late Late Show which...
Craig Fergusen hosts. I think the shows are under contract until at least 2012. He also owned 'Everybody Loves Raymond' for its 9 or 10 year stretch. He's the guy who continued to pay his writers during their last strike. He ain't hurting.

5. Embassy Suites has pulled their ads from CBS
"David Letterman's comments about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and one of her daughters has prompted a hotel chain to pull its advertising on CBS' website — and spawned a campaign to fire the Late Show host that includes a planned protest outside his studio.

Embassy Suites, part of the Hilton Hotels Corp., pulled advertising on CBS' site because of complaints, company spokeswoman Kendra Walker told TVGuide.com. The company was not an advertiser on Letterman's show.

"We received lots of e-mails from concerned guests and we assessed that the statement that he made was offensive enough to our guests and prospective guests that we elected to take the ads down," Walker said. She declined to release the cost of the ads."

Please contact them and let them know they've lost you as a customer for cow-towing to right wing extremists.

John Lee, VP Brand Marketing and Communications, [email protected]

Dawn Ray, Public Relations, 901-374-5954, [email protected]

And for all the people who don't think this is important, now they are going after Letterman, next it will be Jon Stewart, then Keith and Rachel. Don't let them silence the few progressive voices left in the media.

Please pass this on to as many friends and forums as possible.

Thank you.

"Top 10 Reasons Sarah Palin's 'Outrage' is Misplaced and a Little Late"
I posted this as a reply in another thread but it was suggested that I give it its own OP. This is from Shannyn Moore http://shannynmoore.wordpress.com/2009/06/14/top-10-rea... /

10) Last September, a skit on Saturday Night Live suggested incest in the Palin family. “What about the husband?” asked a mock Times reporter. “You know he’s doing those daughters. I mean, come on. It’s Alaska!” No outrage. Sarah Palin appeared on the show one month later in late October.

9) Days after the announcement of Bristol’s pregnancy, Conan O’Brien joked, “It’s true, John McCain’s running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, has revealed that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. Palin said, ‘We should never have introduced her to John Edwards.’” Where was the outrage? Was Conan promoting infidelity with an underage girl?

8 ) From two different Tonight Shows: “Governor Palin announced over the weekend that her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is five months pregnant. Oh, boy, you thought John Edwards was in trouble before, now he’s really done it!” AND…“All the Republicans are heaping praise on Governor Palin. Fred Thompson said, as an actor, he could see them making a movie about Sarah Palin and her family. Didn’t they already make that movie? I think it was called ‘Knocked Up!’”–Jay Leno

<snip>

AND…The NUMBER 1 REASON Sarah Palin’s Outrage is Misplaced and A Little Late…

1) The “candidate who must be obeyed” was talking about Palin’s family when he said, “Kids are off limits.” Jake Tapper of ABC News interviewed then Candidate Obama, and asked, “Governor Palin and her husband issued a statement today saying their 17-year-old daughter Bristol, who is unmarried, is five months pregnant. Do you have any reaction?”

OBAMA: “I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people’s families are off-limits. And people’s children are especially off-limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Governor Palin’s performance as a governor or her potential performance as a vice president. And so I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories. You know, my mother had me when she was 18. And, you know, how family deals with issues and — and, you know, teenaged children, that shouldn’t be the topic of — of our politics.”

The Palin children have been fodder for comedians since they were brought to the national stage. Incest isn’t funny. Ugly kid jokes aren’t funny. Many of the things said about public figures are just flat wrong. Being “knocked up” isn’t much fun. Racist comments hurt all of us. I exhausted the top 10 list before I ran out of outrageous instances ignored by the Palins.

The National Organization for Women named David Letterman to their Hall of Shame. Will Letterman be joining Jay Leno? Conan O’Brien? Craig Ferguson? Seth Myers? Rush Limbaugh? Or John McCain? Of course not! I guess N.O.W. didn’t bother checking Sarah Palin’s “feminist” credentials. All across America, right wing radio and television talk show hosts feigned outrage in perfect synchronicity. The same people who back up Palin’s high drama assertions against Letterman ignored the connections between Bill O’Reilly’s irresponsible incitement and the murder of Dr. George Tiller. David Letterman, a late night entertainer, apologized. Fox New’s Bill O’Reilly has not.

As a parent, I understand being defensive. I just wonder what took so long. Why now?

And just for good measure, in case you all missed it during the campaign, here is Sarah Palin giggling at local shock jocks calling former state congresswoman Republican Lyda Green a "bitch" and calling her a "cancer," when everyone knows she is a cancer survivor.

20. Governor Palin, in "winning" this apology, lost big in the overall war.
Letterman told a bad joke. Palin IS a bad joke.

This story isn't done with by any means. Letterman easily survives the "outrage" and Palin's political fortunes are not enhanced.

Also, at some point fairly soon, voters are going to begin asking, "Now let's see. If Governor Palin is down in the lower 48 battling comedians and community organizers, when does she have the time to govern Alaska?"

Soon it becomes a tax payer issue. The citizens of her state pay her salary.

21. Absolutely, irrevocably, ineluctably not!
I want nothing more than to see this flyweight pantywaist become their nominee in '12, or at minimum their VP candidate redux. Failing that, I guess I'll have to content myself with any of the other flyweight pantywaists the GOP has on offer. At a bare minimum, we're 3 years away from wanting to shut up Palin and her minions.

"Well, I used to be disgusted / Now I tried to be amused"

Palin and her ilk make it easy to be amused the more disgusted I am by them. Viva Sarah!

29. This jackass is a "tea party organizer" who thinks he's Somebody.
Here's a gem off his blog. Proves he isn't stupid:

The Conservative Radical’s Tactical Rules

1. It is better to be 85% right and quick than 100% right and slow.

2. Do what you can right now with the technologies, resources, and time immediately available to you.

3. Use free and cheap technologies at every opportunity

4. Observe Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment – do not engage in personal attacks of fellow conservatives in public forums. Anything you say will be ammunition for the left. Personal disputes among fellow conservatives are best handled privately.

5. When communicating through any public forum on the internet--Twitter, blogs, websites – remember that anything digital lives forever, so refrain from the use of profanity, personal attacks, or statements that are factually unsupportable.

6. Publicly engage with the left only when there is a clearly identified goal that has a reasonable likelihood of being accomplished through the engagement.

7. Privately engage with the left when you are confident you are dealing with a person of honor and good will whose personal integrity has not been compromised by Saul Alinsky’s moral nihilism.

8. When engaging with the left let no falsehood go unchallenged.

9. When dealing with the left, look for opportunities to persuade open-minded opponents of the merits of conservatism.

10. When evangelizing to open minded members of the left, be a friendly teacher guiding your students towards conservatism, not an argumentative and arrogant haranguer bent on demonstrating your intellectual superiority.

11. Seek out opportunities to collaborate with like-minded conservatives through self organizing projects.

12. You earn a seat at the table of a self organizing project by showing up, doing the work, and collaborating effectively with your project colleagues.

13. Successful self-organizing projects are characterized by:

(a) rapid response consensus development of goals and tactics
(b) transparent real time communication between project colleagues
(c) rapid implementation of tactics by a core group of the most engaged project colleagues
(d) whose personal conduct is guided by the principles of project servant-leadership.

14. Once you have earned a seat at the table, you have a right to participate in the development of a consensus. But if you don’t show up to participate, you lose the right to complain about decisions made by the group in your absence. The process drives forward relentlessly on a 24-7 time clock

15. When conflict arises within your self organized project, and the conflict is not resolvable, leave the project, start your own new project with those who are of like mind, and wish your former project colleagues Godspeed.

32. I'm hoping for Bruce Willis to make an appearance on the Late Show soon...
dressed as Sarah Palin in her fuck-me shoes. He does this from time to time; after Christo diss'ed Letterman for having the temerity to invite him, a 'true artiste,' onto his show after the Central Park Gates installation, Willis showed up dressed in jaw-dropping orange from head to toe. (Letterman was clearly bewildered by Christo's response, having said only nice things about the project, until that happened.)

And I hope the President pays him a call next month when he's in town to speak at an NAACP function.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind A-Rod filing a slander suit against Ms. You-Betcha, because when she and the first dud started making inferences about pedophilia, they most certainly were referring to him, since Letterman sure as shit was not in the Yankees dugout that day.

Thanks for the link, I just called Kellogg's and let them know that I will be buying more of their products. I rather like the Special K with Blueberries. I am about to call Johnson and Johnson and Olive Garden. I have not gone to Olive Garden for a few years, but it looks like it is time for me to go back!
