3. That would still mean Obama fucked up
The next President after Barrack Hussein Obama's two full terms in office will be a Democrat.

And by 2016, Palin's bloom will be off the rose.

The only thing she has to offer is sex appeal.

How will she look 8 years hence?

18. Don't be so sure.
Americans are fickle and they generally get tired of one-party control. Reagan was popular when he left office and it took Dukakis having a meltdown for Bush Senior to win that election. :eyes:

2016 is too long for her, she's going to think that god opened a door for her in 2012.

5. My tinfoil hat theory is that the same people who brought us 9-11....
will plan another attack a year before the 2012 elections. This way they get to drag out Jeb Bush and Cheney's kid...the MSM will convince everyone that Bush and Cheney kept us safe the seven+ years after 9-11.

:eyes:

There was a thread here earlier tonight about who people might support in a primary against Obama in 2012, a previous thread about talking about possibly flooding the Green Party in 2012, another thread here tonight worrying about a repeat of Chicago '68, and nearly every other thread seems to be talking about how Obama=Bush, "no change", and Obama throwing the GLBT community "under the bus" and "knifing them". Gee whiz! It's going to be a long four f***ing years!!!! Hopefully, all of this infighting doesn't make it easier for somebody like Palin to swoop in and win but, frankly, I'm not sure how representative the views here on DU of Democrats in general and it's not like Palin is going to become a super genius in the next 3-4 years continuing to wander around blabbing her way through another mind numbingly obnoxious and incoherent interview.

the Republican nomination in 2012, and 2016 and every four years after that until the perma frost in Alaska melts.

When Barack Hussein Obama was able to carry North Carolina, Indiana, and Virginia, it shows that the country is truly changing.

Fortunately for us the repubs haven't realize it. Stupid ass motherfreakers!

15. Here's the thing we ignore her at our peril
No one thought that a shit head loser like Hitler could become leader of Germany and trounce all over Europe.

G. W is another pathetic loser that pretty much screwed the world...no one thought he would be Pres of the US.

Sarah is a loser and an idiot on top of that but we should never discount the losers. We need to make sure that she stays in Alaska and stays a former Gov and a hockey mom.

25. I was going to say we should ignore her, but ironically, the more she is in the
news, the more she digs herself in deeper and embarrasses herself- which worked pretty well so far as a deterrent during the last election.

17. Change "woman" to "man"
and you have what quite a few people were thinking prior to November 2000.

Then add "again" to the end of the sentence, and you have what people were thinking in 2004.

24. yeah, but George didn't do a Mae West wink during the debates...

No, I don't think it's the same. We are unwilling to tolerate certain types of behaviors from women politicians as compared to men, as odd as that may seem. It's likely that the first female POTUS or VP will have to be someone with much more gravitas than Palin.

10. Canada won't be safe.
If that lunatic wins, she'll be convinced that Jesus doesn't want any thing between Alaska and the rest of the US. So that will mean invading Canada. And probably hunting the French speaking people from helicopters. :scared:

26. Hey, that is not true ... Most Canadians dislike the Palins and we
don't sound like them. Gosh, we know much more world history, LOL.

You may think we are because our little Bush got elected again and also in BC, Campbell got re-elected for a third term, imagine that, frig, that was unbelievable but we have no viable second party here, but we do not like Sarah Palin!

16. It's the "I know best" attitude
Some call it the schoolmarm attitude and I agree with that, too. But the crux of it all is the ideology behind the tone. I wouldn't blame you for leaving. Our country surely wouldn't be ours if she was elected.

19. You and me both....
I don't think she will ever be president thankfully, but if somehow she managed to weasel her way in I would seriously consider moving to Canada or some other place. That would be the last straw for me, there would be no point in staying in America anymore. Her being president would mark the beginning of the end for this country, everything would spiral downward from there.

22. You're a chickenshit, then. Just fucking move now and quit whining.
Sorry, but this "If X becomes president, I'm leaving the country" is the flakiest statement ever. It's the political equivalent of tipping over the Monopoly board. Grow up. Your Americanism isn't defined by the government; it's your job as a citizen to argue and fight and make your vote make the government be defined by you.
