Jamie Gangel decides to give national publicity to a hateful racist blog
called TOTUS (I won't give the URL) but this idiot did a Karl Rove-inspired story about President Obama's use of the teleprompter on the Today Show, and she even mentioned that racist totus blog. If you're on twitter, send her a note at @jamiegangel and tell her dumbass you didn't appreciate that shit.

Jamie Gangel is a 16 year veteran correspondent for NBC News, and has spent the last seven years as the National Correspondent for NBC News “Today”, covering a variety of issues – from popular culture to hard news.

As “Today” National Correspondent, Gangel has become well-known for her long-format features and interviews — profiling everyone from Presidents and celebrities, to ordinary people with extraordinary stories. Among her recent exclusives, Gangel has interviewed President Bush, Governor George W. Bush and President and Mrs. Clinton. Other exclusives include long profiles of Senator Edward Kennedy, Linda Tripp, Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Ross Perot.

In the arts, Gangel has interviewed ballet star Mikhail Baryshnikov, cellist Yo Yo Ma and opera star Cecelia Bartoli. She has also profiled many photographers including Alfred Eisenstadt, Annie Leibovitz, Herb Ritts and Lois Greenfiel, and interviewed movie stars ranging from Sean Connery and Clint Eastwood to John Travolta and Jane Fonda.

Her features have included traveling to the Arctic Circle to observe polar bears and swimming with sharks in the Caribbean. In 1996, Gangel profiled the major athletic stars of the Olympics and, in 1993, Gangel was the first television correspondent ever allowed to bring cameras into the Central Intelligence Agency for a never-before-seen behind-the-scenes tour of CIA headquarters.

Gangel has also covered stories around the world for NBC. In 1987, Gangel covered the Iran-Iraq war as part of the Pentagon pool in the Persian Gulf. In 1986, Gangel covered stories in Africa, and spent most of her time living in Central America reporting on the war between the Nicaraguan government and the contras. In 1984 she covered the presidential campaigns of Jesse Jackson, John Glenn, and Gary Hart, and the vice-presidential campaign of Geraldine Ferraro.

Gangel was born and raised in New York City. She graduated from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1977. In 1976, she also attended Harvard University where she studied international economics.

Gangel is married to best-selling novelist Daniel Silva. The couple lives in the Georgetown section of Washington, D.C. with their twins, Lily and Nicholas.
