You are about to embark on a vacation to faraway lands when, while driving to the airport you hear on your car radio that the flight before yours has dropped off the radar while flying through an area plagued with storms.
It's also reported that your flight (through the same region) has NOT been canceled
as the the airline you are booked with has ordered it's pilots to put all weather advisory channels on "IGNORE."

Do you applaud the airline executives for their hasty remedial measures, wish that other airlines would follow suite and continue with your vacation plans or due you return home and report the extremely ignorant behavior displayed by said executives to the FAA?

17. I highly recommend the ignore user and ignore threads created by user.

I did it a couple days ago and it has eliminated the spam in this forum. I resisted ignoring because I have no one else on this site on ignore but the number of threads was just getting out of hand.

Too bad there couldn't be ONE daily photo thread by the poster pinned to the top that included the best photos of the day. Then the people who like admiring photos would be happy and the people who don't like wading through the zillions of photo threads would be happy.

He is returning to Washington. His wife and daughters are remaining in Paris to "do a little shopping." Which is not part of any official visit by any stretch of the imagination. But "the girls" want to "do a little shopping." So they will "do a little shopping."

Which means TWO planes were sent to Paris. One of them just so "the girls" could "do a little shopping." Which means the taxpayers paid for two planes and two round trips to Paris for the Obamas. Just so "the girls" could "do a little shopping." This on the heels of the "date" in New York. Despite all the fawning here on DU quite a few are taken aback by this abandonment of propriety by the Obamas.

Perhaps Michelle is the one who wants to "do a little shopping" and perhaps she will be shopping for more $540 Lanvin sneakers at a discount that can be sneaked in without paying duty? Maybe some Lanvin gowns at a discount as well? Maybe some Dior? Chanel?

Obviously the first lady doesn't make a pit stop through customs like the rest of us.

The Obamas as consummate consumers. It really is beginning to leave a bad taste in the mouth as they say.
