Saddam himself, in normal interrogation (read: non-physical abuse), said there was no connection between him and Osama Bin Laden.

I guess everyone on the right forgot that when Saddam invaded Kuwait back in 1990, it was Osama Bin Laden who asked Saudi Arabia if he could bring his fighters from Afghanistan into the Middle East to drive Saddam out of Kuwait. They said no, and instead allowed the U.S. to send a half-million troops to Saudi Arabia.
