Anyone hear Biden's friendly jab at Obama about his teleprompter today?
Edited on Wed May-27-09 04:09 PM by Thrill
Just saw it on the news. He was giving the commencement at the Air Force graduation. And I believe the wind blew down the teleprompter while he was speaking.

Maybe I should add friendly to the title

1. Here ya go...
Then, not content to leave without a jaunty ad lib, Biden noted that heavy winds were gusting through the ceremonies. One of his two teleprompters had toppled over. Alluding to the jokes of Obama's reliance on the speech-facilitators, Biden added, "What I am going to tell the president when I tell him his teleprompter is broken. What will he do then."

3. LOL. I am glad that both Obama and Biden know how to make fun of
themselves and don't take the Rethug crap too seriously.

4. Joe, don't you have your own telepromter? You had to borrow Obama's?

9. If we can't laugh at ourselves...
Harmless. Now "big ear" jokes... that would hurt.

13. And then there was Bill Clinton
in one of his State of the Union addresses. His speech was not properly loaded to the teleprompter, so while the techis fixed it, he just started talking, from memory and no one knew the difference.

5. Looks like a "cute joke" to me
I wonder how the media will portray it though? I love every opportunity to jump all over Biden.

6. It's amazing that when an innocuous statement by Biden is made, everyone always has a negative
knee-jerk reaction against it, implying that he meant the worst.

Of course the M$M will rush to paint this as an Biden attack against Obama. I just wish that DUers wouldn't fall for the same trap.

10. I wasn't taking it as a mean or negative joke. I thought it was a friendly joke

try not to take 'jab' to mean unfriendly or negative. Biden was clearly just giving him a friendly poke

11. Everyone knows Obama's prompters are on air force one with him. He doesn't leave home without them.
I just saw them last night in Vegas.

This teleprompter thing is funny. I actually look for them now. They are like members of his cabinet.

16. As long as you look for all of the other politician's teleprompters, then that's fine.
Also watch all of the television commentator's eyes closely...as they are also reading teleprompters...including Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Andrea Mitchell, Keith Olbermann, Davide Letterman, etc., etc., etc.
