Chuck Hagel: I would have voted to authorize funds to close Gitmo

Just now on Andrea Mitchell. Gave a spirited defense of the Obama administration. Also dismissed Cheney quite nicely, as well as hysteria over bringing detainees to supermax prisons.

2. Loved how he said we had an election rejecting the previous admin. ideas...
...and asked why we were even discussing it. 'Course Andrea made the excuse that we never had the debate, since McCain was against torture.

5. Now, that's a Republican who makes real sense.
I'm guessing he is more of an independent than a real Republican. I remember his wife endorsing candidate Obama during the General election!

9. Nebraska's an interesting state
It's very red, but they've had some independent minded senators.

Worth remembering that Obama won Omaha and the one electoral vote.
