David Axelrod is Brilliant
So think back to a few months ago when all of our "esteemed" news media couldn't understand why the White House would pick a fight with Rush. "But he's just an entertainer, this is beneath the President, blah, blah, blah" "This isn't sound political strategy"...

David Axelrod was the one who signed off on this strategy of painting Rush as head of the Republican party and Rahm and Gibbs lit the fuse. Rush took the bait and is now taking the party over the cliff with him.

Every time some poor Republican tries to makes sense and step out ahead of the pack, Rush swats him down. Rep. Eric "It's Not a Listening Tour" Cantor has permanent trade marks on his back and the rest of the party won't say a peep for fear of what might happen. They all have to apologize to Rush even if they didn't do anything.

Hell, Rush is now telling Colin Powell to go become a Democrat and I'll bet no one in the party tells "Boss" Limbaugh to stuff it even though the Republicans fell all over themselves back in the day to have Colin run for President...

Well played sir, well played...

18. Rush
The head of the republican party is Rush and henceforth the party shall be known as the Rushicans. All bow before the fearless Rush!

Ya gotta set em up before ya knock 'em down, and our boy Axle got the wheels rolling.

2. I was just watching the ED show and some lady was trying to say
he's not the leader of their party. It's great that they are still trying to fight their way out of that label. As long as he keeps talking, they are screwed.

6. It was Carville & Greenberg who came up with it.
Not to say that Axelrod isn't brilliant, but this one wasn't his idea.

10. If Axelrod Hadn't Said Go - Rahm and Gibbs Wouldn't Have Said Anything
This White House is a tight ship (with a few exceptions)

11. Axelrod isn't President
And Rahm is higher up in the food chain.

Most likely Obama is the one who gave the go ahead, especially since he used that line first in a meeting with Republicans.

16. If This Comment Was Directed at Me, Then You Have the Wrong Idea
Edited on Wed May-06-09 07:27 PM by PopSixSquish
I am a Rahm fan from back in the Clinton years as he was a good defender of then President Clinton during impeachment and think he's an excellent COS. For clarity's sake, I meant that even if Carville et al came up with the idea, it wouldn't have gone forward had Axelrod not been in agreement. Axelrod and Rahm are best friends but have vastly different styles. Rahm will come at you from the front and hurt you. Axelrod quietly makes sure the body can never be found...

<snip>

"He also helps decide which fights to pick and which ones to avoid, making him a leading voice in setting the political tone in Washington. The recent back-and-forth with Rush Limbaugh, for example, was explicitly authorized by Mr. Axelrod, who told aides that it was not a moment to sit quietly after Mr. Limbaugh said he hoped that Mr. Obama would “fail.”"

22. I agree. Axe and Rahm are both perfect where they are, as adviser and COS
I did not like Rahm at all and was disappointed in Obama picking him but he has more then proven his worth.

13. The idiots in the media have been wrong about everything since before the primaries.
They were so sure it would be Hillary and Rudy as the nominees. They were certain there would be a huge fight at the Dem Convention. They were positive Palin would boost McCain's chances. They thought the election would be close. They questioned so many of Obama's political strategies and were wrong every time.

When are they going to learn, they sit at a desk in front of a camera because they can't do anything else? And even at that job, they're always wrong.

When are they going to learn that Obama and his razor-sharp team knows exactly what they are doing and are miles ahead of everyone else.
