3. And he will get many more single women than Gore did..
Now we must work on the Nascar dads. Dale Earnhardt wants them all to go see F 9/11.

Amazing, huh?

If Bush can't rely on the NASCAR vote, he's in deeper shit than anyone has imagined.

10. I think Bush* is losing votes. The Republicans who

are really conservative, or even moderate, are not happy about how he has spent money, gotten us into a mess in Iraq, run up the deficit.

14. Most RW evangelicals are not "true conservatives"...
Ironically. They are more in the line of old-fashioned, authoritarian Calvinism popular amongst poor refugees from places like Bavaria and Scotland. "Whats in it for me" is the best way to characterize their philosophy on temporal matters... alternately "get ahead in this life because you're going to hell in the next".

Many of the "true conservatives" are small-town midwestern rural traditionalists (and Sunbelt transplants thereof) who look back on the 40's and 50's and simply do not trust the "party of the urbanites" whichever party that may be. A hundred years ago it was the Republicans.

These people are not necessarily fndamentalists and they aren't opposed to the government helping poor people like the fundies are, but they are pretty conservative on issues like abortion and taxes. A populist Dem who was moderate on abortion could make a play for the rural vote, but there aren't too many of those left, unfortunately.
