3. They usually follow these like some sort of holy book:
Edited on Tue May-05-09 01:37 AM by That Is Quite Enough
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_citizenship_conspiracy_theories

Basically these nuts claim that Obama can't be president since apparently he isn't a natural-born citizen, and that only they know the truth while all the people who've vetted him over the past couple years have all been either bribed, silenced or duped.

They're pretty much effing loonies.

8. Well....
The birthers are the loons that believe that President Obama wasn't born in the United States and/or does not have US citizenship.

Philip Berg was the first to file a lawsuit. A disgruntled Hillary supporter (two of the defendants, Linda Sue Belcher and "MommaE" are both PUMAs as well), his lawsuit was originally intended to force the DNC to drop Obama in favour of Sen. Clinton.

Dr. Orly Taitz came onto the scene later. She's a dentist with a law degree from an on-line school. At first she simply repackaged Berg's lawsuit as part of her and Gary Kreep's "Keyes v Bowen" lawsuit, and later stuck out on her own (in both senses of the term) at the Supreme Court with Lightfoot v Bowen. She's gotten more and more insane lately, with paranoid conspiracy theories, claims of website hacking, FEMA death camps, and her calls for a military coup and/or armed rebellion by the citizens.

The gist of the lawsuit is claims that Dr. Orly wanted her old webmaster, Lisa Ostella, to lie to the FBI about hacking. She didn't, and pulled Dr. Orly's lawsuit and domains, (which were owned by Lisa Ostella) down. Dr. Orly than made claims that Lisa Liberi, was a felon from New Mexico that hacked into Dr. Orly's paypal account and stole money. (Dr. Orly seems to have problems believing that there can be more than one person with the same name). Ed "Sasquatch Slayer" Hale of Plains Radio repeated these claims as well as some attacks against "MommaE". And the fun started. :-)

23. The restraining order....
....is to stop the defendants from spreading their claims.

And *snork* on the birth certificates. Of course, they would need to be examined to prevent forgeries...... :-D

29. Reminds me of the old "Bumfights" site...

There was a website that was run by a guy who would pay homeless people ten bucks to beat each other up, and he'd videotape it for the internet.

That's pretty much the same thing as this.

21. It's a rightwing radio site, pushing Kouri and Ingraham. The home page advertises a book
claiming sheriffs in this country are indeed the ultimate law authority in their respective jurisdictions. The sheriff absolutely has the power and responsiblity to defend his citizens against all enemies, including those from our own Federal Government

I suppose it's entertaining if Whack-a-doodle A says Whack-a-doodle B is going after Whack-a-doodle C, but I'm not inclined to use the site as a source or to believe anything said there

Since then the lawsuit has been found on PACER (the federal court's electronic document system)

Scribd.com has a copy of the actual lawsuit posted as well.

24. Thanks. So according to this, Orly's fundraising tanked, she ran her mouth, and now Phil is
suing her and everyone he can link to her -- because of course it wouldn't make any sense just to sue her if her funding has dried up. I'd guess she has little to worry about, because Phil may not be among the country's top attorneys -- and if he's reduced to suing her, he might be a bit short on cash too. I suppose this is mildly entertaining, in a sort of let's watch them all go over the cliff sort of way, though it's not really likely to be highly informative or morally uplifting

27. Berg's having cash-flow problems.....
He lost his appeal on ethics charges, he's having problems with his house payments, and donations from the birthers have been down.

On the other paw, Dr. Orly has her dental practice, and her husband Yosef is President and CEO of a software company (Daylight Chemical Information Systems). Ed "Sasquatch Slayer" Hale owns a Texas Ranch as well. So there's some money there. I suspect Berg is planning for an out of court settlement, especially since Dr. Orly keeps running her mouth. If not though, it's still going to tie up their resources, and split the birther camps.

Popcorn anyone?

32. An interesting comment at Free Republic
From discussing the lawsuit: "Dueling wackjobs. Time to grab the popcorn."

Memo to Phil Berg and Orly Taitz: Even some of the Freepers, the craziest Obama-haters on the planet, consider you two a little too crazy. Think about that.

The downside for DUers is that, in the spirit of bipartisanship, we might have to share our popcorn with a few Freepers. Oh, well, maybe watching them blush with embarrassment will add to the entertainment value.

33. One of the plaintiffs IS a Freeper

This thing is the Snicker's bar of crazy litigation - no matter how you slice it, it comes up nuts.

The plaintiff Lisa Ostrella is Calpernia in Freeperville. Meanwhile, her co-plaintiff and attorney Berg is a 9/11 Truther who volunteered for Hillary in the 2008 primaries.
