4. "I'm Against It" - Joey Ramone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiXklnXFuA4

Well I'm against it
I'm against it
Well I'm against it
I'm against it
I don't like politics
I don't like communists
I don't like games and fun
I don't like anyone
And I'm against...

I don't like Jesus freaks
I don't like circus geeks
I don't like summer and spring
I don't like anything
I don't like sex and drugs
I don't like waterbugs
I don't care about poverty
All I care about is me
And I'm against...

I don't like playing ping pong
I don't like the Viet Cong
I don't like Burger King
I don't like anything
And I'm against...
Well I'm against it
I'm against it

6. Ah yes, the Ramones...an excellent Bush-loving band.
*koff*

Johnny Ramone, a.k.a. John William Cummings: "Infamous in the punk community as being one of a few conservatives, Cummings made his political affiliation known to the world in 2002, when the Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After thanking everyone who made it possible — clad in his trademark T-shirt, ripped blue jeans and leather jacket — he said "God bless President Bush, and God bless America."<2> He said in an interview, when questioned on his conservatism, "I think Ronald Reagan was the best President of my lifetime." This was evident at least in the mid-Eighties: when the band released the UK single "Bonzo Goes to Bitburg/Go Home Ann" in 1986, Cummings pressed for a name change, finding it insulting to Ronald Reagan, and the song was retitled on American releases to "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes to Bitburg)" after a line from the song's chorus. In this same interview he claimed that "Punk is right wing."

9. Just the guitar player, and he didn't write the lyrics.
Otherwise they never would have produced this masterpiece.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8m2LpYGV0E

You've got to pick up the pieces
C'mon, sort your trash
You better pull yourself back together
Maybe you've got too much cash
Better call, call the law
When you gonna turn yourself in? Yeah
You're a politician
Don't become one of Hitler's children

Bonzo goes to Bitburg then goes out for a cup of tea
As I watched it on TV somehow it really bothered me
Drank in all the bars in town for an extended foreign policy
Pick up the pieces

My brain is hanging upside down
I need something to slow me down

Shouldn't wish you happiness, wish her the very best
Fifty thousand dollar dress
Shaking hands with your highness
See through you like cellophane
You watch the world complain, but you do it anyway
Who am I, am I to say

Bonzo goes to Bitburg then goes out for a cup of tea
As I watched it on TV somehow it really bothered me
Drank in all the bars in town for an extended foreign policy
Pick up the pieces

My brain is hanging upside down
I need something to slow me down

If there's one thing that makes me sick
It's when someone tries to hide behind politics
I wish that time could go by fast
Somehow they manage to make it last

My brain is hanging upside down
I need something to slow me down

Fitting that he'd be so... whatever... as to think that punk was in any way right wing.

My financial situation is better than before (still sucks, but not as bad), so we'll have to hook up for a Pats game this year. Maybe we can watch a Dolphins game with trumad on a speaker phone.

16. It's both the beauty of DU and it's curse.
If we weren't opinionated people we wouldn't be here, and because we are, we vocally complain when we don't like things.

Mostly it's just stupid human nature, which is kind of redundant I guess. :)

19. how about I just agree with "All of the Above"
BTW, I'm just as opiniated at times; however, I'm not ready to "toss the baby out with the bathwater" so to speak when it comes to Barack Obama. I knew that the would only be one person who could run for President that I would agree with 100% and that would be, of course, me. And since I wasn't running - everyone else was a compromise.

23. LOL
I would have voted for you. I don't even agree with myself half the time, so you'd be a step up. :)

I'm with you on Barack. I'm not happy with everything (especially his stance on gay rights) but he's in a hell of a tough spot in regards to so many things. He deserves some time to fix the mess he's been given, and two months isn't even close to being enough time to judge him by. And if I was tempted to judge him already it would be largely positive.

22. I call it the DU effect.
Because we're such a diverse group, no matter what you post, a bunch of people will vehemently disagree. And those who agree tend to just hit the recommend button and leave.

If you say we should do X before Y, you're bound to get ten people chiding you that Y is the single most important thing always.

27. A Bunch of People Will Vehemently Disagree Just to Be Vehement
And since I can never get the voices in my head to agree to anything, we'll just sit here and laugh at the rest of you.
