Suze Orman To Bush: "You Owe The American People Every Penny Of Your Fortune And Your Family's Fortune"

In a long profile by WWD's Jacob Bernstein, Suze Orman sounds off on George Bush and blames the ex-president for the financial crisis (near the bottom of the first page):

Sitting in a green room after her TV interviews, she lambasts everyone from Alan Greenspan to Larry Summers to the former president of the United States, who holds an especially dark place in her heart. "Commander in Chief?" she says of George W. Bush, with a mix of disbelief and scorn. "You blew up every single financial vessel we had and if you think you aren't personally responsible, well, the blame starts at the top. There is no higher top than you, SIR! If I were you, I would feel so absolutely horrific that I would take every penny I had and distribute it to anybody and everybody to help them in whatever way I could. You owe the American people every penny of your fortune and your family's fortune."

1. Give him a bill for $5 trillion.
That's the total estimated cost so far of the financial crisis to the US Treasury.

6. you're right but this is probably aimed more at her vast audience, some of whom
still haven't made the connection between their vote for this incompetent loser and their current sad fate.

5. I like her show a lot. I think she's a genuinely good-hearted person who wants to
help the people who contact her and gives good (but financially conservative) advice. She's also a Dem. donor.

I am sure her own investments are doing as well as anyone's can during these awful times, and it's not exclusively for herself that she's said this. She hears daily from tons of people who have been harmed by BushCo.

7. she HAS been telling people for years to have a stash of money put aside for emergencies.
That would have been helpful to a lot of people right about now. I sometimes like her and sometimes am not sure. Someone like me has never had a spare dime to put into savings. We were always lucky if we had enough to pay the bills AND buy food. I like her advice about paying off credit cards starting with the highest interest rate first. We have been working to pay off all or debt, which is generally personal loans for our house, the move and a wood furnace... and our van we got a year ago. she does have a lot of good advice, if not always easy to do. she definitely doesn't mince words!! LOL! i give her kudos for that.

9. Best thing she ever said was after a 30y Bull run prepare for a 30y bear market.

I'm sure she prepared for the carnage and was aware in 2001 when Bush took office that we were entering a period of no oversight.

10. We can only dream that CNBC would clean house on their "Wall Street" staff,
and replace some of the pathetic riff-raff they're using right now, with people like Suze Orman!

15. Me, too!
I always found her to be a bit sanctimonious. Maybe that's because I was already doing the thing she preaches, and didn't need to be told. But, she nailed it here. I assume she includes the whole extended Bush family, including Poopy, Babs, his siblings, and their rancid offspring.

17. I too had thought Suzie preached things we did not need to know, but
has now spoken words which need to be drilled into every American's head with the spaced repetition necessary for the message to forever be ingrained in their minds. :D

14. I just found a new respect for Ms. Orman! Right on! From Jeb to all the other brothers too!
As Malloy says it so well - The entire "Bush Crime Family" is responsible right along with their ever lovin' f'en base! Take your base and wipe your butt with it Bush! The time is now to admit you and your base did this to our country! No if's, and's, or but's about it!

18. Suze just jumped way up on my list!!
I do think she normally gives good, sound advice, but rarely watch her.

But for her outspokenness about Bush, I give her a BIG thumbs up!! Way to go, Suze!
