Poll question: Rating President Obama's State of The Union Speech

0 - 1 = Bush on an incoherent day, (I know this statement is redundant)

10 = Whoever you believe to be the greatest human orator of all time.

Consider this poll to be a blend, grading style and substance.

1. Hm. Well, I'd have to say the greatest orator of all time would be God,

who spoke the entire universe into being. So Obama gets like a 10^-(10^10) by comparison.

But God's probably not real, so I can't do that. It's like comparing someone's generosity to that of Santa. So, from a more reasonable perspective, I think that speech gets about a 9 given the setting and what was expected. However, that doesn't mean it stacks up well against great examples of American oration. If you strip context and intent, it would get maybe a 6 or a 7.

it was an amazingly good speech and delivery.
