They're family, so they'll never be totally out of your life. At family gatherings, they will continue to tell the same stories over and over: FDR was practically a commie, they knew from when they watched Death Valley Days that there was something special about Ronald Reagan, big government is very very bad, etc.etc. You try to discuss current events, but they are stuck in the loop of their favorite parables - ok, here comes the Reagan story for the third time tonight. Later, Pa Grump nods out on the recliner while Ma Grump helps out in the kitchen, criticizing your cooking and hiding all your utensils.

6. In light of the way they voted, this thread is more relevant today than when I posted it

The Republicans have been treated with more courtesy and respect than they EVER extended to Dems when they were in the minority. The fact that NOT ONE could find it in themselves to vote for a stimulus package that would have definitely helped their constituents is beyond belief.

Charlie Crist on Morning Joe today said that there was much in the plan that would help Florida, like extending unemployment, and a host of other things.

But it is more important for the Republicans to whine about their perceived slights than to do the right thing.
