My Dad marched in the 1953 inaugural parade
Edited on Tue Jan-20-09 05:46 PM by DesertRat
Today brings back a lot of memories for him. He was in the MA National Guard and his unit traveled to Washington in a school bus and slept on the armory floor. Then they traveled home on the school bus that night. He talked today about walking past the viewing stand and how Eisenhower and Nixon looked right at him and what a thrill that was for him. He was 22 years old.

He's a huge Obama supporter and couldn't be happier today. He said that he's so grateful that he's lived to see it.:)
