Fixed News "Roberts corrects Obama after oath stumble"
Leave it to Fixed News to rewrite hitory.

WASHINGTON -- Chief Justice John Roberts swore in President-elect Barack Obama as president of the United States on Tuesday, helping him through a slight stumble in the first of what could be many important interactions between two men who rose to their positions of power quickly and who have some background similarities, but whose politics differ.

Separated by a Bible used by Abraham Lincoln at his first inaugural, Roberts asked Obama: "Are you prepared to take the oath senator?"

Obama indicated he was, and Roberts started reciting -- and Obama repeating -- the 35-word oath that is prescribed by the Constitution.

But at one point early on, Obama paused, as if grasping for the next words. Roberts helped him over the brief awkward moment, repeating a few words to get Obama back on track.

He was then the first to congratulate Obama on his new job.

4. Poor Fox, they don't even know how sad they are.
My brother quotes them and everybody around him just rolls their eyes. Nobody even bothers to correct him anymore.

6. Um no... Obama waited for Roberts to correct Roberts stumble
before he would repeat what Roberts said because he didn't want to use the wrong words.

I supposed anyone can get verbal dyslexia but you'd think the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS would have the oath of office for the President down cold by memory.

:)

10. Wrong - anyone who watches the video on youtube will see that Obama prompted Roberts.
Not the other way around.

Obama does his homework and is a former Constitutional law professor. Roberts is a partisan hack.

12. This Is One of Those Times You Wish the "Liberal Media"...
...would live up to its moniker and berate CJ Roberts for his incompetence in rendering the oath of office.

Instead, FOX moves forward, unimpeded, yet again, pandering to its audience, advancing lies, while right wing radio beats up on the straw man "liberal media".

13. their headline on the front page of their website says
"Roberts corrects Obama after oath stumble" but when you click on that link the actual headline on the article says "Obama, Chief Justice Roberts stumble in Recitation of Presidential Oath"

1. Totally wrong.

2. They can't say "President Obama" but they refer to Roberts with his full title.

14. Is there *anything* FOX News will not lie about?

This whole story is such a silly little nothing ... yet they still have to lie about it. Amazing.

17. I think we have a winner
on Keith's worst person in the world tonight. Roberts is a schmuck and I understand that in an interview after the oath, he admitted screwing it up.
