"The Urgency of Now"
Cold water survival time in 20 degree water is less than 15 minutes.

The difference between life and death in this crash even AFTER everyone was standing out on the wing was being right here - right now.

One reason that the Bush administration has been such a disaster has been that it has always been a day late and a dollar short - 9/11, Katrina, Wall Street, you name it.

The metaphor here that I see for America is hopefully that under Obama we will respond quickly to our problems and do it without panic, without fear, and do it with some skill and with some care for others.

My praise to the pilots and air crew for their grace under the ultimate pressure and my thanks to all of those ferry boat crews that were there right here and right now.

:applause:
