Map of Jumbotrons in DC on Inauguration Day

Contrary to information provided by D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty this morning, official sources tell us the Presidential Inaugural Committee has decided not to place Jumbotrons along the parade route on Pennsylvania Ave. NW. The idea to wheel several of the big screens onto the street has proved too difficult logistically because of the large crowds, the sources said.

(boooo there won't be any jumbotrons along the parade route! that sucks) :(

1. What's a Jumbotron?

6. Hmmm, I don't like being told that I'm stupid, no matter how much I've earned it
The sporting events I go to---high school football games, high school volley ball games, high school baseball games (notice a trend?)---never use giant screens.

4. Darn! We were just talking abt going to the parade route
instead of the swearing in (we don't have tickets). Gosh it would have been good to be able to still see the swearing in. Oh well.......I'm recording it at home so I will have to watch it when I get back.

5. Watching an Obama speech on a jumbotron was kind of weird...cheering subitles..
I wentt down to Xcel in St. Paul the night he clinched the nomination (yes, Xcel., sooon to be the site of police excess.)
inside was packed with 18,000 and almost as many inside.
The Jumbotron sound wasn't so good but they had the speech in subtitles at the bottom of the screen.
A little strange. cheering at that.
but God it was great to be there.
wish I could be there for the big show...
