Obama once said that a President has to be able to do two things at once

So this excuse about the country having more pressing issues than prosecuting Bush and Cheney just won't fly. Obama can work on the economy AND prepare investigations into Bush war crimes at the same time, with the help of his new Justice Dept.

"Time" is the key word, along with priorities. Obama has to take on the tough things first, and let his AG take care of putting together the pieces of what happened the last 8 years. If those who committed the crimes are to be taken before a court, then they should make damn sure that they have a solid case that won't be thrown out over some stupid technicality. It will take time, but I agree that if we keep pestering them, it will show that the people are serious. This also has to be done with all kinds of other things that need to be addressed. We need change, but it will take time to get it all done.

You may have seen his interview today. It was less than inspiring in terms of enforcing our laws. But that's just talk. We will see what his actions are.

That is why I'm keeping mum about this. Perhaps I am setting myself up for disappointment, but I'm also hoping this is the reason Obama has been so low key about this. I don't want Obama to say too much until he is safely sworn in and he and his family are comfortably residing in the White House. I really don't trust the Bushies, as paranoid as that may sound.
