Ecstasy used to treat PTSD by Dr. Sanjay Gupta (He also does segment on Iraq Vets and PTSD)
CNN: Ecstasy used to treat PTSD

CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta reported that a Georgia woman has used ecstasy to treat her post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Gail Westerfield has had depression going back to a childhood assault and rape later in life. She was given ecstasy as part of a pilot study being done by Dr. Michael Mitheofer.

Westerfield’s symptoms have disappeared since being treated with the drug. Ecstasy is the street name for MDMA. The drug temporarily floods the brain with serotonin, a chemical which is vital to emotional well-being.

This video is from CNN.com, broadcast Nov. 13, 2008.

3. that's actually where I stand. He's a good doctor who relies too heavily on drugs
probably doesn't question pharmaceutical companies heavily enough but is still pretty liberal and done a good job trying to enlighten people.
