Are you surprised Obama did not select Chuck Hagel for a position?

I'm a bit surprised because Hagel went on that trip overseas with him. I thought that maybe he would want to be a part of the Obama administration even if in a small way.

1. He's not finished yet. Hagel could still be in CIA or DNI. Or Deputy Sec of Defense

I can't remember exactly what the situation was.. It was way back when Senator Hagel was speaking out against Bush and how screwed up he was.

All I remember was that I was shocked that I actually was so proud (for that incident) of a Republican.

So I sent a quick e-mail out with a simple thank you and I told him I was a "Democrat from Anchorage, Alaska"...

Well guess what?

I've probably received about 17 Christmas cards from friends, family, the local veterinarian, etc....

...but the absolute NICEST card that I received so far this year was sent by Chuck Hagel !!!

I'm impressed with the quality of the card (and his cute doodle on the inside of it!!!) ..but mostly, I'm major impressed that he'd send a card out to an out-of-state person who has only e-mailed him ONE time!!

The card has a photo of his two children, his wife and him walking in the autumn leaves on the front of it.. and on the inside, there's another photo of his two kids when they were little!

He even had the dog sign it!!!

Geeeeeez....... I've donated up the yingyang to our senator-elect from Anchorage and (so far) he hasn't sent out a damn thing!

Anyway, major KUDOS to Senator Hagel !!! ... The guy has great taste in cards (and he's not a bad doodler either!!)
