Not feeling good about the Minnesota recount
http://ww2.startribune.com/news/metro/elections/returns/2008/recount/msenco.html

You take a look at some of the most populous counties in the state; and they've all been counted, and it seems many of them have favored Coleman in the recount:

Hennepin was +27 Coleman (500k votes there)
St. Louis was +57 Coleman (100K votes there)
Washington was +12 Coleman (120k votes there)

I mean there are 20 counties left but I'm starting to think that Minnesoteans may still be stuck with Coleman. And trust me, I really want Franken to win - I think he would be a great senator.

1. It is all going to come down to the disputed ballots AND
absentee ballots previously denied... Unfortunately, it may come down to a court battle, but one that will likely have Coleman leading at the time by a couple of hundred votes.

This, in the best case scenario for an extended challenge... I'm not feeling confident, either, but the Franken camp claims to be and fivethirtyeight.com has not given up on him, though they predict a razor thin final outcome.

2. Franken says Coleman is gaming those numbers
The official numbers only include the non-challenged ballots. Coleman has been challenging lots of obvious Franken votes.

4. well it would be ironic to hear Bill O'Reilly complaining about a candidate
who was installed into office due to the Supreme Court stepping in ...

5. There have been so many challenges that those numbers are meaningless.
Virtually every ballot of the type Franken expected to have an advantage in--that of idiots (er, sorry, "first time/low information/at-risk voters") who have no idea how to fill in a ballot--has been challenged, either by one side trying to keep it from being counted, or one side trying to make sure it gets counted. Until they're resolved, they don't count as a vote for anyone.
