I'm also literate. I know what words mean. When I hear "intercourse" I hear definitions one and two, unless context and modifying adjectives indicate the meaning is definition three.

Having a vocabulary and knowing how to use it is not the same as being humorless. And conversely having one's head in the gutter and hearing sexual innuendo where absolutely none exists is not a sense of humor.
