Dems Say Biden Chooses New VP Chief of Staff (Gore's VP CoS)
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27698240/

Former Clinton official served VP Gore in same position

CHICAGO - Vice President-elect Joe Biden chose as his chief of staff a man who once served in that same role for Vice President Al Gore, Democratic officials said Thursday.

Ron Klain also was an adviser for Biden during his Democratic primary bid and helped the Delaware senator prepare for the vice presidential debate during the fall campaign.

The officials disclosed Biden's selection on the condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak publicly for President-elect Barack Obama's transition team. That group is planning to announce senior staff appointments later this week.

1. Another Clinton person. Gosh! You would think that Clinton hired some pretty talented people.
More shocking news for the DU Clinton haters.

8. I always expected that there would be Clinton people in any Democratic
administration. The same would have happened had Gore, Kerry, or any of the 2000, 2004 or 2008 candidates become President. These were the people who were Democrats who were committed and talented in the areas they worked in. Politically, within the spectrum of the Democratic party they were diverse. (Even then remember that all the Democratic candidates likely agreed at least 90% over all issues - so a Democrat wanting to work on healthcare, poverty, etc would be comfortable (and likely impatient) in any Democratic administration.)

The one person I knew who was in the Clinton White House - as a junior person - was publicly silent, but privately very very excited about Obama. He is still working and is very committed, in his home state, on issues he worked on in the Clinton administration. He, like, any person wanting to make a change in 1992 flocked to DC to try to get a job in the new Democratic administration.

The Clinton White House had the smartest people in the business.

3. I know absolutely nothing about him, but I have a hard time believing
that he could cause that many waves as the VP Chief of Staff.

And if he was a Biden advisor during the election, what the fuck is the harm?

11. Biden made an excellent choice
All Americans owe a huge debt of gratitude to Ron Klein. He was the driving force behind never giving up during that recount debacle. He wanted to forge ahead even after the SC decision. It was a matter of principle with him, not politics. If there is one shining example for protecting every vote, he would be it.

14. Ron Klain was played by Kevin Spacey in recount.....
he is more a Gore/Biden man than he is a Clinton man.
