. . .and when the Chicago Tribune driver pulled up he was mobbed. Both papers are putting out special commemorative editions and newstands in Chicago are overwhelmed again.

2. I'm so proud of our Chicago! I live less than 10 miles from Obama as does
hundreds of thousands of others. Just makes me :)

5. My god.
people were lining up at 3:30 for these papers. Most stores have signs up saying 'no papers'

I only scored 5 papers. and the last gas station I looked there was a black lady who growned when she saw there were no papers...I offered her one of my five and she went nuts ...thanking and hugging me in the parking lot, it was worth far more than the $10.00 the paper would have brought. What a frenzy.

This is what it looks like.

7. Windy - I'm clear out in Kendall Cty - and we're sold out.
The only place with them is Barnes & Noble down in Plainfield, and they don't open until 10AM. I'm leaving in a few minutes to go get in line.

10. I did manage a trib. However...
Every copy out here had a Kungfu Panda sticker stuck right in the middle of the top fold. I managed to get one without the sticker fully adhered and pulled it off. I was so annoyed by that. Getting a newsweek out this way yesterday was hard. Only one store had them left, and hidden down inside a closed lane.

12. I just got back from waiting in line 35min
The manager even came out to let everyone know that yes, they did have the sun times, that no, he couldn't sell them until 10AM, and no we couldn't wait in the vestibule (he was nice about it). So we're all waiting orderly, nicely outside in the freezing cold. I'm the second person in line. He opens the door and says they're at the counter - all 2 of them. We all looked confused, 2 papers, what? We go up there, the cashier sells both of them to the first person - leaving around 30 people just standing there in shock. That SOB knew there were only two papers, and didn't tell any of us waiting - then they sold them both to one person. I drove 20min back home, and still cannot feel my ears. To say I'm pissed right now, is an understatement.
