Poll question: Who will take the pledge?
"I, state your username, do solemnly swear not to freak out and start a 62nd thread on the subject every time a member of the media floats a name for President Obama's Cabinet, and bash them mercilessly. I promise to trust President Obama just a little, on issues. I will not always agree with what he is doing at the moment, but I will pause momentarily to consider that there may be a plan, or a bigger picture I cannot see. I pledge to occasionally remind myself that as a state Senator, Barack Obama was actually able to, with great effort and much conviction, push serious death penalty reform legislation through a republican senate, unanimously and with the support of law enforcement."

(this is not a scientific poll, much to the chagrin of my beagle, who very much wants to be the First Dog)

6. I learned my lesson when I bashed Biden, who seems to have turned out OK. So I'll take the pledge.

But.... I'm really not excited about Larry Summers (Rahm - who I haven't bashed - much, anyway, if you're reading my message, please pass it on). The reasons are obvious if you know anything about women, science or Harvard....

OK. I shall now shut up.

8. I trust Obama
And he trusts me.

Tell us your story and the issues that matter most to you. Share with us your concerns and hopes. – the policies you want to see carried out in the next four years.

"I ask you to believe - not just in my ability to bring about change, but in yours. I know this change is possible…because in this campaign, I have had the privilege to witness what is best in America. I've seen it in lines of voters that stretched around schools and churches; in the young people who cast their ballot for the first time, and those not so young folks who got involved again after a very long time. I've seen it in the workers who would rather cut back their hours than see their friends lose their jobs; in the neighbors who take a stranger in when the floodwaters rise; in the soldiers who re-enlist after losing a limb. I've seen it in the faces of the men and women I've met at countless rallies and town halls across the country, men and women who speak of their struggles but also of their hopes and dreams."

I'll take his pledge, not your's.

12. I will try.
I was a Girl Scout, sometime back in the early Pleistocene era. Our pledge begins, "On my honor, I will try...."

13. to serve God, my country and to live by the Girl Scout Law.
(I was a Leader for several years, even though I don't really believe in God too much)

15. The latest version of the Girl Scout promise
has a footnote -- 'The word "God" can be interpreted in a number of ways, depending on one's spiritual beliefs. When reciting the Girl Scout Promise, it is okay to replace the word "God" with whatever word your spiritual beliefs dictate.'

The Girl Scouts are so much cooler (and liberal) than the Boy Scouts!
