A FREEPTASTIC Election Night, Let's Relive The Memories!
Edited on Fri Nov-07-08 12:05 AM by JeffreyWilliamson
My gosh has it already been 2 days? It feels like a lifetime! I remember election night, how nervous we all were, how excited, how exhuasted. But I also remember my favorite website from that night, the one I spent the most of my time reading--FreeRepublic.com. Please join me on a trip down memory lane...

UPDATE FROM OHIO (More good news)
self | 11/4/08 | LS

Posted on Tuesday, November 04, 2008 3:31:19 PM by LS

So far:

Turnout at GOP precincts has been unbelievable.

In Darke Couty, which went 2:1 for Bush in 04, they are looking at 80% turnout and thousands of additional R voters.

In Allen County, heavy R turnout.

In Montgomery County (Kerry won by 2% in 04), the west side (D) precincts are coming in under 20% by mid-afternoon!!! Our R precincts are outpacing them 2:1.

Reports of other red counties are at tremendously high levels.

BASED ON THIS . . . .

wait for it

not only would I "call" Ohio now for McCain, but it's entirely likely he could end up being a sizeable statewide victory margin. I won't tell you yet what it could be, but it portends amazing things for the rest of the states.

Exciting! I'm ready to call Ohio for McCain, too!

Set your page results preference to 20:

1.) Click Account at the top of any of the latest posts pages.

2) Click My Preferences.

3.) Click 20 results per page under Browsing.

Disable unnecessary sidebars:

1.) Click Account at the top of any of the latest posts pages.

2.) Click Manage blocks.

3.) Disable as many sidebars as you can. I left only the Browse by Forum, Breaking News and Front Page News sidebars on mine. You can reconfigure them again after the elections rush is over.

Funny, it never went offline for me. Perhaps that "elections rush" wasn't so rushy with Freeper elation...

McCain wins Texas, news reports say

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., did the expected and easily captured Texas's 34 electoral votes in Tuesday's presidential election, news reports said. McCain held a double-digit lead in polls going into the contest, and was expected to cruise to an easy victory in the nation's second-biggest electoral prize over his rival, Sen. Barack Obama. McCain was declared the winner shortly after polls closed in the state. The win now puts 83 electoral votes in McCain's column to Obama's 174. A total of 270 electoral votes are needed to win.

YES! We'll all form militias and relocate there! Oh wait, I live "there"...

2. It was a beautiful thing to behold...
They spent all week thinking about the guns and ammo they were going to buy when mom gave them their allowance and drove them to the store. It was if they knew what was about to happen, but bless their souls, they fought admitting it to the bitter end.

3. The dumb-asses think that Acorn stole the election..
There were probably about zero votes cast illegally due to the registration problems involving Acorn.

They have no idea what is going on in the real world. Only what they've been told to think by right-wing whack-jobs.

9. Can I get one last stab, eh?
They sure loved to lord it over us.

Look, fact is, we're going to govern responsibly and not shut the other side out, even when we disagree with them. At least we'll listen, and never shout them down as traitors. I remember 2004. They didn't show us the same courtesy. Especially not over there.

We won't punish them, like many hope we will, and that's actually good. We won this by promising a different way, and soon it will be time to deliver. But we can play until then.
