We need some no-names for Obama's cabinet and administration.
All the names that keep getting floated out for various positions are people with a history in the Senate, the House of Representatives, or previous administrations. We should avoid relying on this approach. Besides disrupting the careful alliances we've built up in Congress, we need some fresh faces for a fresh administration. There is real talent out there in progressive think tanks, state government, and in academia which is being ignored or passed over in favor of political "celebrity" picks.

When I see John Kerry, Bill Richardson, or Rahm Emanuel being offered, I think, "Leave them where they are. Let's cast a wider net."

2. Agreed. Someone who I am really impressed with is Dr. Orszag, Director of the Congressional Budget
Office.
His blog is cboblog.cbo.gov

3. I agree. And I think Obama's cabinet will ultimately be 70/30
70% new faces, 30% established players.

4. You are correct IMO. I tired of recycling politicos into these positions
The qualities that make a politician do not necessarily convert to exceptional Cabinet ability.
Cast a wider net.

6. I agree with you.
On the other hand, usually the really key picks are the deputies. Those are the ones who usually work the extra hours to get the policies implemented. But I think Obama should surprise us. Go to the universities and state governments for his talent pool.
