So the knife in McCain's back came from one of his own insiders.
"Randy Scheunemann, a senior foreign policy adviser to John McCain, was fired from the Arizona senator's campaign last week for what one aide called "trashing" the campaign staff, three senior McCain advisers tell CNN.

One of the aides tells CNN that campaign manager Rick Davis fired Scheunemann after determining that he had been in direct contact with journalists spreading "disinformation" about campaign aides, including Nicolle Wallace and other officials.

"He was positioning himself with Palin at the expense of John McCain's campaign message," said one of the aides.

Senior campaign officials blame Schuenemann specifically for stories about the way Wallace and chief campaign strategist Steve Schmidt mishandled Palin's rollout — stories that the campaign says threw them off message in the critical final weeks of the campaign. Another aide said McCain personally was "very disappointed by Randy," who worked for McCain for many years in the Senate.

He wants to tie his wagon to that shooting star, Palin? This little blurb tells us a lot of what we all knew about McCain and his campaign.

Who will write the first "tell all" book?

3. Scheunemann must have been the one leaking to Fred Barnes on
Faux. Barnes was the one that specifically used Nicole Wallaces' name.

The mud-slinging they tried to use against Obama is nothing compared what they're going to fling at each other. I love the smell of karma in the evening!

2. Doesn't it just make sense
that one of mccain's long time trusted, senior foreign policy advisers would turned traitor for the vacuous palin?

5. All that winking and flirting she engaged in during the debate was
evidently actually being practiced on Scheunemann.

The rats are all quickly scurrying from the ship.

7. He's a true blue neocon
He knew McCain was going to lose and he sees a dim-witted politico who he can have a Marxist-Leninist relationship with. She's useful to a leech like that.

11. Most likely because Schuneman was in charge of prepping Palin for the VP Debate
Remember that? The one where Biden fucking kicked her ass? (Although he'd never say that)

Yeah, he probably found her blank slate to be a more promising prospect especially since the neocons are extra discredited within the Republican party.

8. Someone has been keeping copious notes, I'm sure. I intend to
read them all and highlight all the funniest parts, to remind people in 2012 what the Repugs are actually like.

Do you think Regnery Press is fighting to bring out the first one?

9. Interesting
I feel almost sleazy saying this, but I wonder how close Palin and Schuenemann were at the debate prep retreat...

10. That whole thing was a train wreck...I read earlier about Palin
walking around in just a towel when they came to her room....I think it was a circus like atmosphere.
