Poll question: Which campaign was tougher for Obama? Which win was more impressive?

I've been thinking of this question (a lot) for some months now. Obama's winning of the primary was astonishing - he took down the "Clinton Machine." During and after the primary I felt that was the toughest thing he'd have to face. I felt he was heading toward a landslide of Reagan proportions (1980). I felt that way through most of the GE and even after the RNC but then that began to change. The attacks became so fierce that I began to have a little doubt about the voting response. I watched Obama remain calm and act like a leader. I occasionally thought he should fight back in similar fashion but his demeanor reassured me that he knew what he was doing. Withstanding that was tough; becoming the first black president (not to mention a Democrat with fat fucking mandate) was impressive.

What is your opinion? The answer is most likely the same but it could be sliced up - as I'm trying to sort out how I feel in hindsight.
