My freeeper fence sitter neighbor says to me

"Well he did serve afterall in the guard and the guard is the military" so after i picked myself up off the ground i say to him, and this shut him up fast "Are you actually trying to equate the Guard service of today to that of the 60's and 70's?, are you saying the guard back then served like they do today??" So he looks at me and thinks for a bit and says "Well no, i guess when you compare the 2 you really can't compare them at all can you?"

Sometimes with people like this you just have to shake your head. I mean the nickname for the outfit was the "Champagne Unit." Is that not enough of a clue that this was a lot less rigorous than what was found in the other armed forces of the era?
