BUSH ATTACKED NAT'L GUARD SERVICE OF OTHERS

The White House is currently attacking those who raise questions about
President Bush's National Guard record. They say the questions about Bush's
failure to fulfill his commitment are "dirty politics."<1> Yet a look at the
record shows that it was President George H.W. Bush - and his top campaign
strategist George W. Bush - who tried to smear the National Guard and
military record of their opponents.

As reported in the August 23, 1988 Los Angeles Times, then Vice President
George H.W. Bush's campaign co-chairman John Sununu went on national
television to impugn an opponent's dealings with the National Guard during
Vietnam. Sununu specifically claimed Sen. Lloyd Bentsen (D-TX) had
improperly helped get his son into the Texas National Guard during Vietnam.
Bentsen's son served in the very same National Guard unit at the very same
time as George W. Bush. The Bush campaign's attacks came just days after
Bush's allies on Capitol Hill launched a vicious attack on Gov. Michael
Dukakis (D-MA) for receiving a draft deferment during the Korean War.<2>

At the time of the coordinated attack, George W. Bush was serving as a
senior adviser to his father's campaign.<3>

18. Too close to home for the average joe or jolene
Hyprocrisy is obviously conduct that the average Amerikan can't appreciate unless it's spelled out for them. And the media won't do it in language they can relate to. It's speculated widely in trial-lawyer (boo, hiss) circles that it's those who are hypocrites themselves who refuse to recognize hypocrisy in others, as anything resembling a lie. Like trying to get a jury of burglars to convict another burglar (it can be done but it's a little dicey).

REPORT SHOWS BUSH WAS AWOL

Earlier this year, President Bush told the nation "I did my duty" in the
National Guard in 1972 when he was supposed to report for service.<1> But
according to a major new report, that is not true.

As a new examination of documents by the Boston Globe shows, "Bush fell well
short of meeting his military obligation." Twice during his Guard service -
first when he joined in May 1968, and again before he transferred out of his
unit in mid-1973 to attend Harvard Business School - Bush signed documents
pledging to meet training commitments or face a punitive call-up to active
duty. But "he didn't meet the commitments, or face the punishment, the
records show."<2>

Bush also has claimed "I did show up in Alabama"<3> in 1972 when he was
supposed to report there for duty. But as the Globe notes, "Bush's service
records do not show him logging any service in Alabama until October of that
year." Furthermore, "even that service is in doubt" as "no one has come
forward with any credible recollection of having witnessed Bush performing
guard service in Alabama or after he returned to Houston in 1973."

A new group called Texans for Truth will begin airing 0:30 second television
ads featuring a National Guardsman who in 1972 served in the very same
Alabama unit Bush was supposed to have joined. That Guardsman testifies that
he never saw Bush show up for service - a story corroborated by others. See
the ad here: http://daily.misleader.org/ctt.asp?u=1333383&l=53732 .<4>

9. Good catch. Republicans corroborates Barnes on Bush favor.
This is an excellent find. Here we have Republicans corroborating Ben Barnes who said that he got Bush into that Guard unit, clearly a Guard unit where favored sons could weasel into.

Why in the HELL did Kerry not come back with this when all the SWVL crap was going on?? Im tired of this 'positive campaign' crap. Rove doesnt give a shit about positivity, and that's why they'll end up stealing it again...with lies and deceit and disenfranchised voters.

...it's "open season" on the Swift Boat Liars at Amazon.com. They have suspended their normal rules regarding reviews, so head on over and unload your thoughts. Here's the link:
