I went to the wrong polling place today and stood in line to register before I learned that I was at the wrong location.
I noticed that the line I was in was VERY long while there was nobody in the N-Z line.
When I got to the front I found I where I needed to go and sure enough, there were A-M and N-Z lines and guess which lines were longer? Think about it, how many people have surnames that begin with a "U" or an "X" or even "Y" which are part of the N-Z group? Most surnames fall in the A-M segment.
The long lines at the polls could be solved by simply changing the alphabetical breakdown at the check in points.
