16. Ha ha! Seriously?
Ok, here's the story.....

Barack and OH Gov. Ted Strickland stopped at a diner.

They decided to order some pie. Now, this restaurant didn't have sweet potato pie, all they had was cream pie. (BARACK OBAMA IS A FRUIT PIE ELITIST!!!!!) Do you like sweet potato pie? Well, I dont, but he does! And one day, he will have a sweet potato pie cook off. But he knows that NO ONE can make a better sweet potato pie than his mother in law.

Gov. Strickland had lemon meringue and Barack had coconut cream.

Anyway, the "wait staff" (gotta love this man's command of the English language) was lauging because the owner of the restaurant was a big Republican. After a while, here comes this man out with their pie. "Are you the owner?" Barack asked. "Yes." "How's business?"

(this is when we all laugh)

"Not so good." he said "Folks aren't able to afford my pie."

"Oh yeah" Barack said, "Wonder who's fault that is? Look, if you keep banging your head against the wall, eventually you say 'this hurts!' and you stop!"

Yep .... I just did all that from memory. :)

17. It's colored sugar applied with a stencil
My wife cut the stencil from the PDF on the Obama site.

Funny, they didn't have pie stencils listed as a suggestion.

And you can pour a little hard lemonade (instead of lemon juice) on the pie if it's too sweet.

Yes, you are invited. :toast:

33. That pie is so cute!
The puppies make it very special. :)

I bought a pre-made pecan pie last week (for practice). Unfortunately, the bakery was out of pecan so I bought a frozen one. It was too rich and sweet and kind of put me off. So, tonight, no pie - except the one in my sig.

However, come Thanksgiving, I will eat pie and will think of my new president. :hi:

It's actually a linzer tart but close enough. I sure wish Costco had peach pie -- their apple pies are way too sweet.
