20. I feel like I can take a deep breath today...I've been here since the last election

we were relegated ..like conyers et al..to the basement...of our country...until Katrina..no one on the corporate media questioned Bush..and we were just dirty liberals...I THOUGHT I WOULD EXPLODE.. and probably would have if DU hadn't saved my life..truly...

Its been the longest 4 years...my mom died, I got thru a major illness, I rehabilitated myself, I watched other people here die and lose their spouses...I've learned more here than I ever imagined was possible on a web site..

on DU over the last 4 years, than the culmination of all the years that went before. There is no way to put a value on all that information and education, nor the sometimes hard learned lessons of playing well with others. What I've learned I can't help but pass on to those I come in contact with on a daily basis. So thanks to everyone who has opened my eyes and expanded my world.

24. It's been a long, long time - a time I thought would never come.

After Kerry lost 4 years ago, I was convinced this country would never recover but now we have a chance. If someone had told me then that Barack Obama would be the candidate to bring Democrats together to defeat the GOPers, I would have laughed at them.

We've been through a lot together here and I am thankful we've had DU to meet and converse.
