My 9 year old son wanted to know...

My son, who is a high functioning Asperger's child, has a Obama-Biden sticker on his backpack and today he came home from school and said...
"Mom, there is a black girl in my class whose parents are voting for McCain. Mom... Why would someone vote against someone who is reaching out to help all of us, why would a black person not understand?"

Well... as a white woman who will be 52 in January I had to stop and really think about it. I thought... and I thought. Finally I said, "A lot of people vote against their own best interest. White people, black people, it doesn't matter, all people can be downright dumb, oh and her parents have been drinkin' the kool-aid."

Then I had to explain what Kool-Aid was. We never have had the stuff in our house... Jeesh.

Here is my son who has not been drinking the kool-aid... ever.

This is her, at the doc's office...She's a tomboy, and broke her arm last week. She likes purple and cute boys, sometimes..lol...
