I am trying not to cry, but it's very difficult right now
I just learned of Barack's grandmother's death. I have been half in tears for days now - just hearing someone speak about the possibilities of tomorrow's election gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes. Knowing that his grandmother died just a day before the election is crushing.

I am working as an election protection attorney in south Irving tomorrow. The election judge is a Repuke. I will be as professional as possible, but firm in my resolve to help every person who wants to vote do so. I will probably be crying tomorrow - hope I can wait until the polls close at 7:00!

4. Can you let the tears roll today?
I'm not trying to make light of your emotional situation, but I know that I can get cried out after a while. Of course I look like hell, but it's better than walking on emotional eggshells trying not to break down. I say let yourself cry when you can and it will be easier to weather the storms. Good luck tomorrow.

8. Hope Supporters feel its ok to shed some tears for Barack and give him the FEELING
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 06:16 PM by Sensitivity
I cried just thinking of the tension Barack must feel having to rally in the midst of sadness.
Experiencing sadness and joy is part of life.

9. It is very sad
indeed. I am certain that his grandmother hung on as long as she could.

Thank you for your work. It is of deep importance.

Take a deep breath and hold on tight - you will get through this and so will Barack.

Peace

15. The thought of actually voting for a black man for president makes me well up
I am fortunate to have lived through the greatest (and the worst with Bushco) times in American history -- from the 60's to now.

I am driving more than 100 miles to vote tomorrow and then I plan to do what I can to help anybody else who needs to get to a polling place--including my employees.

I will be on the road at 6AM to start my drive.

17. Okay - I'm succumbing
The tears are flowing. This post seems so self-centered - I'm sure many of us are just overcome with emotion right now. I can only imagine how our African-American friends must be feeling at this moment in history. This Irish/Scotch/English/Welsh/Cherokee woman is absolutely overcome!

20. Wow, throw in a smattering of German and we were separated at birth.
You reminded me of something my grandmother (Stewart) used to tell me. "Dearie, always remember that Scotch is a drink not an adjective." Somehow I think we all still get the point regardless of which word is used.

19. I've been weepy too. Hoping my hopes are not just too darned logical.
Hoping Republicans aka the GOP will let us have this one.
Let our avalanche equal our landslide and mandate.
Hope they realize the 80% who say we're on the wrong track
are right. It is time for the Democratic Party to
clean up the Republican messes again-- rebuild the economy
and move us rapidly into alternative energy so oil resources
can be stretched to last longer.

The USA needs help fast, and I'm hoping the GOP sees that
and will let us turn things around and find a fun way
to move toward more sustainable lifestyles.

That's the audacity of hope I'm allowing myself this evening.

23. I'm in NE Tarrant County --
I have decided that it will be GREAT DAY tomorrow!

I will be an alternate election judge working with the republican election judge.

I don't think we will have any issues...should be a good day. I've never done this before, so I'm looking forward to it.
The county did a pretty good job of training.

I am glad I can be there as a Democrat to make sure everything is done properly. I am excited to take ANYONE'S vote...I am glad to be there for my countrymen.

But the minute we are done...I am going home, giving my Husband a BIG KISS, cry, laugh, jump up and down....and break out the champaign!

We can be both sad for him and ecstatic at his win at the same time.

Good luck to you tomorrow, and thank you for your work.

24. Thanks, and good luck to you, as well!
I can't believe Election Day is finally here. I am a tinfoil hatter who predicted to acquaintances a year and a half ago that Bush would do something to cancel or postpone the election and am mildly surprised that nothing has happened (yet).

May we all have a rewarding and thrilling day tomorrow!
