Bush spokesman lied - oops, "misspoke" - to the Washington Post
Dan Bartlett in 1999:

To start at Harvard, Bush needed early release from Guard duty in Texas, and he got it easily, about eight months short of a full six years. A Bush spokesman, Dan Bartlett, said early departures were quite common and, in Bush's case, appropriate because his unit had phased out the F-102s. Bush was transferred to a reserve unit in Boston for the rest of his time, Bartlett noted.

Washington Post, July 28, 1999

Dan Bartlett now that the records they said didn't exist have come to light and prove that Bush's Texas unit flew the F-102A until 1974 and that Bush never signed up with a Boston-are unit:

"I must have misspoke."

2. If they get called out they just excuse themselves for miss speaking!
There is a pattern here that needs to be exposed. Nearly evertime they speak it is a miss!
