I recently had a Republican say to me, "Why do they call Obama a black man when everyone knows that he is half white and half Muslim?"

I gasped in disbelief that this person had actually said this to me. Once I regained my composure, I explained that "Muslim" is not a race. It is the religion of Islam and any race can be a believer in that faith.

I then explained that Barack Obama is the son of a white woman and a black man from Africa, a black Kenyan.

She looked at me as if I was crazy, but I knew she was the crazy one.

Stupidity is rampant within the Republican party.
