The best part of the Obamamercial was
that there was NO mention of McLame! Classy move on Obama's part. It was just a very positive piece. Obama made McLame totally irrelevant.

3. Can you imagine a McLame infomercial?
It would be nothing but non-stop lies and innuendo about Obama. He's a terrorist, he's a scary guy, what do we really know about him? Where did he get all that campaign money? Who is his preacher? Who is his plumber? Hahahahaha!

7. Because he doesn't want to do anything for America.
I really think McLame just wants to be president to prove something to his dead father and grandfather. I honestly don't think he has any vision for the country or any plan. He just wants to sit in the Oval office for four years to satisfy his own ego.

15. I think you hit right on it...he is trying to surpass what his
father and grandfather did in their careers and lives. Sound familiar...we don't need antoher President trying to proove himself to be better than his daddy.

Obama has come to be at peace with his father....a sign of maturity.

2. He's brilliant. That's exactly the strategy bush used against Gore... he never talked about Gore.
After the "election" and for months during the recount, he never mentioned him, and after the inauguration while people screamed about it, he never ever ever said his name. In all the time he was in office, I don't ever recall bush saying Gore's name.

12. And the best part of that...
McCain has to attack an entirely positive 30-minute message. He can't ignore it. It was on national TV on multiple networks. He can't pretend it didn't happen.

But he can't attack for anything Obama said about McCain, because there wasn't anything. Everything Obama said tonight was about the future, and about the things that need changing.

So what can McCain do?

He has to attack the positive message. He has to be the angry old man again. He has to be the one with nothing good to say. He has to be the bad guy, 'cause Obama took the high road and all McCain can do now is throw mud at him.

And then Obama can point out exactly that - that one candidate is speaking about the future, about what the American people need right now, and about what he will do to help them. And the other is insulting him for it.

19. You're right!
That's it exactly. At least McCain is comfortable in his role of "angry old man". That's pretty much the only part he's played throughout the campaign. I can't ever remember him being remotely positive.

It made all of this very personal.

24. Just watched it on Youtube
That was ... incredible.

Once a generation, if you're lucky, do you have someone who can not only lead but inspire, can make you ask "well, what can I do to help?", someone who doesn't come across as a smarmy politician but as someone who makes you believe in yourself again.

I was three months old when John F. Kennedy was killed - in those years there have been many politicians for president and other high offices, some noble, many venal, but all carrying with them this implicit assumption that "they deserved to be president". Barack Obama is the first I've ever seen who is coming to the presidency because he recognizes a need that has to be filled. He has real challenges facing him, one of the biggest in history, but I honestly believe that he has the integrity, the strength, the intelligence, and the courage to solve those challenges, to make the US, and the world, a better place.

I can't wait for next Tuesday.
