Politics and Ones Family...
So, the item I posted earlier today:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=7653246&mesg_id=7653246

I also sent to my family. Some of them Republicans, some not. I did this not to change their mind but to show them why I believe what I believe.

Most of the responses to it were positive, even the ones that didn't agree.

My aunt only responded with that chain letter entitled "A Pilot's Perspective on Obama." I was so offended and it upset me some. Even though I knew their politics, I would've hoped they could have responded with something concrete like why they didn't agree.

I know that politics amongst friends and family can be divisive. I put my neck out there because I believe so strongly in Barack Obama. You don't put your neck out there unless you believe that strongly.

1. Luckily, my family are all pretty much on the same page this time,
except for one nephew who married a conservative and moved to Idaho. I have next to nothing to do with them anyway. My sister and her idiot husband voted for the Republican candidate for governor because they are pissed about their taxes, but the Dem will win anyway, so I can live with that.

The hardest part for me has been resisting the urge to say "I told you so." But I won't, because I am just so grateful they have all finally seen the light.

2. I don't regret what I have done for an instant...
but it does sadden me a bit that they can't respect me for what I believe in even if they don't believe in it as well.
