In the past Presidential nominees have had a convention bio video, going back to Reagan who used his in place of nominating speeches. I was going back and watching parts of the Repub convention, in short segments, all I could stomach. It appeared that the Repubs split the longer film in to short segments. The last film just before Bush came out was unbelievable, it (of course) played on 9/11 and Bush and the bullhorn, etc, but its message was that Bush comforted the country by his actions, caring, and hugging, and get this he was heroic because he strapped on body armor and still manged to go to the mound at Yankee stadium and deliver a strike. I guess Bush throwing out the first ball was a metaphor, but who thinks up this shit, and who falls for it. Having wrote a doctoral dissertation on the small town myth in politics and presidential politics that utilized past campaign films (Carter, Reagan, and Clinton) I was dumbfounded with the fact that this is all they could come up with to portray him as a leader - strapping on body armor and throwing out the first pitch at great danger to his life - what a heroic pResident we have kind of makes you proud doesn't it, I know I got all warm and fuzzy and teary eyed. Never mind that his appearance at Yankee stadium was weeks after 9/11 and after up spent 9/11 running like a scared bunny rabbit across the country, now I am rambling, did anyone else see this shit - your thoughts?
