Help a Dem raise more money, just by voting in an online poll.

Two regular writers at the website The Albany Project, which focuses on New York State politics, are offering to donate cash to a given state senate candidate based on the outcome of their online poll. The top three respondents each get $200.

By far the most underfunded of the tight races is Kathy Konst, who's trying to unseat 17 term incumbent Dale Volker. Some people here have heard my rants about Volker before: his mudslinging, his $1 million dollar a year office, his full time taxpayer-funded personal staff of 13, his use of hired goons to intimidate petition signers, etcetera. Getting this guy out of Albany would be a boon to the entire state, and particularly to people in my district who deserve an honest and intelligent representative like Kathy. So for this reason, I'm doing my utmost to make sure Kathy gets part of that contribution.

You can ask the crowd here to listen to any pitch, and you'll almost always get some interest, even if you're asking them to give money. I've got people from North Carolina to Oregon helping out a state legislature race in upstate New York, and it makes a difference. Whatever you can say about the positives of someplace like Kos or Huffington Post, the bar to get any attention is so much higher. And whatever you can say about the noise level here on DU, working together we can kick ass.
