I just received an email from the Acting City Clerk. He has been running a series of voter registration drives in neighborhoods around the city (something his predecesors always said was impossible), and he reported that well over 3,000 people have registered to vote since late September.
Even more amazing is the fact that these folks didn't actually have to do this. We have same day voter registration. so there will be even more new voters next Tuesday.
