Interesting.
Backup plan for Gov. Palin.
If McCain loses the election and Stevens wins the Senate.
Stevens could then resign and Gov. Palin could appoint herself to the Senate.
Just something to think about.

Ted Stevens will not impact anything going into 4 November.
Except the Alaska senate seat.

Just got an idea! Draft Todd Palin so he’ll have a job in DC along with Sarah.

Stevens Guilty on All CountsOne of the reasons that Sarah Palin is even the Governor of Alaska is because Frank Murkowski pulled the almost-same exact stunt.
After winning the gubernatorial election in 2002, he appointed his daughter, Lisa, to his US Senate seat.
Because of the nepotism, Lisa narrowly won her election to the Senate in 2004, and just 2 years later Frank finished 3rd in the Republican Primary for Governor. Another unintended backfire of this matter was that Alaska changed the law so that the Governor does not make appointments in the case of a vacancy. There will be a special election for Stevens seat if he resigns.
